Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor underwent a cataract surgery at hospital and was later discharged yesterday.
The brother of Raj and Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in suburban Andheri yersterday morning for cataract surgery.
"He underwent a cataract surgery at the hospital. He is doing well and was discharged," Dr Ram Narain, COO, Kokilaben Hospital, told.
The surgery was performed by Dr Seema Behl.
The actor is 76 year old. Last year, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan. His last and most recent film appearances were in Jinnah 1998, a biographical film of Mohammed Ali Jinnah in which he was the narrator and another Merchant Ivory production titled Side Streets 1998.
