The last time they came together in front of the cameras was when they shot for a day for their make-up man Deepak Sawant’s Bhojpuri film 'Ganga Devi' for purely sentimental reasons.
The only big film in which they were seen together on screen was for Karan Johar's " Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" way back in 2001.Prior to that, the evergreen pair of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan had got together in 1981, as husband and wife in Yash Chopra’s 'Silsila'.
Now, director Shoojit Sircar is all set to reunite Mr and Mrs B in tentatively titled "Garden House".
Shoojit Sircar said "I have had an initial discussion with Mr Bachchan and Jayaji. Both of them have liked the idea. The film is a mature relationship story of a couple. It is about how the ageing couple rediscover their love at 60. The idea is to explore how a relationship goes through both smooth and rough patches to continue for over 30 years or so. Then there comes a stage when a couple needs to figure out how to recharge the emotions. We want to highlight the trials and tribulations of a matured relationship and how a 60-year-old couple rediscovers their feelings for each other."
Juhi Chaturvedi, who also penned "Vicky Donor", is busy working on the script. We will be ready with the first draft of the script by the second week of July. The tentative title of the movie is "Garden House". It refers to the house where the couple lives. Though the title is in English, it's a Hindi movie," Juhi says.
Shoojit Sircar has made the unreleased 'Johnny Mastana' with Big B three years ago. 'Mr Bachchan and I spent two years of our lives working on 'Johnny Mastana'. It's unfortunate that the film is still unreleased. I still say it's one of Mr Bachchan’s best works till date. My next film with him would be even better," Sircar said.
